On Sunday, the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics taking place in South Korea came to an end with Japan beating its previous record of 10 medals at the 1998 Nagano Games.

Today, after an amazing number of medals collected during the Games, the Japanese athletes officially disbanded after a special award ceremony.

The record-breaking delegation won a haul of 13 medals to which there are 4 golds and 5 silvers. Figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu, who took the gold for the second time in a row, and other medalists such as Nao Kodair, the delegation captain and gold medalist in the women’s 500-meter speed skating, were applauded by hundreds of guests.

The Japanese Olympic Committee President Tsunekazu Takeda praised the athletes and hope that the great result of the winter Olympic Games augurs a strong performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
