H.E. Mrs. Ndiyoi Muliwana Mutiti
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zambia to Japan

I take this opportunity to greet His Imperial Majesty Akihito, the Emperor of Japan and the Imperial family, His Excellency Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan and the people and the Government of Japan. It is a great honor for me to serve as Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Japan.

As I commence my tour of duty, I wish to assure the Government and friendly people of Japan of my fervent commitment to further strengthen the excellent relations that have existed for many years between Zambia and Japan. Japan has been assisting Zambia in various developmental projects in health, agriculture, water and sanitation to mention but a few. During my tour of duty in Japan, I will strive to augment this cooperation especially in the area of trade and investment, infrastructure development and tourism for the mutual benefit of our two countries. Zambia has a lot of admiration for Japan’s prowess in economic development, technological advancements and expertise in a variety of fields. My goal is to see Zambia drawing lessons from Japan and further building on existing cooperation for the mutual benefit of our two nations.

In this regard, I assure the Government and entrepreneurs of Japan that my office will remain open and welcoming for business engagements and partnerships. I also look forward to cooperation and interaction with academic institutions, cultural centers, non-governmental organizations and the Japanese people at large.

Zambia is endowed with numerous resources such as land, minerals and water that offer diverse opportunities to invest in various sectors of the economy. The country’s predisposition to political stability, security and hospitable people provides a serene atmosphere for both social and economic activities. The topography of Zambia with vast natural wildlife and the Mighty Victoria Falls offers a relaxing atmosphere away from the daily work activities for both local and foreign tourists. I therefore, invite you to visit Zambia, explore our tourism facilities and enjoy our unique hospitality.

To the readers of this magazine, I am very grateful for this opportunity to reach out to you. It is my earnest hope that we shall continue to interact and deepen our friendship. Your inquiries about Zambia are most welcome. I look forward to making meaningful and fruitful facilitation of your business and interaction with Zambia.
